What does a 'typical' session look like?

A typical session is designed to accommodate approximately 30-32 children and lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes. This duration includes time for explaining exercises, so that all participants can fully engage in about an hour's worth of activity, based on their individual ability.

The session commences with a fun and inclusive cardio warm-up game named 'Bulldog'. The game caters to various ability levels, enhancing agility, teamwork, and individual competitiveness, while keeping the atmosphere light and enjoyable.

Following the warm-up, participants move on to the core of the session: a full-body workout. This workout utilises diverse equipment such as tyres, chains, kegs, water drums, slamballs, kettlebells, weightbags, and logs. The exercises - including flipping, pulling, pushing, and lots of running - are all ability-based, meaning each participant can perform at their own pace and level.

Throughout the session, we instill and uphold the principles of respect, dedication, determination, and pride. These values form the foundation of our inclusive and respectful environment. If participants break any of these rules, they're asked to do press-ups, a task that can also be adjusted based on ability.

To round off the session, we engage in a tug-of-war game. This activity allows participants of varying confidence levels to either lead or be led, emphasising our commitment to inclusivity. The game also teaches respect and understanding for all participants, regardless of whether they're on the winning or losing team.

If you have specific requirements or ideas for the sessions, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We are more than happy to accommodate your needs and suggestions to ensure you have the best possible experience.
